Hisense sells TVs running two completely different systems, and which one you have decides everything. On Google TV or Android TV models, IPTV is easy: install TiviMate or another player from Google Play. On VIDAA models, Hisense's own system, you can only use apps from the VIDAA store, choice is limited and varies by country, and sideloading isn't possible. For most VIDAA owners, a cheap streaming stick is the best answer.

Step 1: Which system does your Hisense run?

  • Google TV / Android TV: Google's home screen with rows of recommendations, and the Google Play Store.
  • VIDAA: Hisense's own home screen and the VIDAA app store (vidaa.com).

Hisense sells both in many countries, sometimes in the same size and price range, so check your model rather than assuming.

Google TV and Android TV Hisense models

Treat it like any Google TV device:

  1. Install TiviMate (or Sparkle TV, XCIPTV, Kodi) from Google Play.
  2. Add your Xtream Codes login or M3U link.
  3. Load the guide and hide groups you don't watch.

Full walkthrough: IPTV on Google TV. Built-in TV apps have less memory than a good streaming box, so a big playlist can feel slower; hiding unused groups helps.

VIDAA Hisense models

VIDAA isn't Android, so Android apps, including TiviMate, can't be installed, and guides telling you to copy an APK onto a USB stick don't apply to VIDAA. Your options:

  1. Your service's own app, if it has one in the VIDAA store. Many licensed services and free apps do, depending on your country.
  2. An IPTV player from the VIDAA store, if one is offered in your region. Availability changes, and some players are only listed in certain countries. Install only from the TV's store.
  3. A streaming stick in a spare HDMI port. A Google TV device gives you TiviMate and every free live TV app. This is usually the best experience by far.

Why Smarters stopped working on some Hisense TVs

IPTV Smarters Pro was removed from the major app stores in 2026 and no longer gets updates, which is a common reason it misbehaves on TVs that still have an old copy. See what happened to IPTV Smarters Pro.

Checking your model in settings

If the home screen doesn't make it obvious, look in the TV's settings under system or about. Google TV and Android TV models list an Android or Google TV version; VIDAA models list a VIDAA version. The model number on the back label can also be looked up on Hisense's website (Hisense USA).

Free channels on VIDAA

VIDAA TVs in many regions include free streaming apps in the VIDAA store, and some models have their own free channel service built in. It's worth checking the store's free TV section before paying for anything.

Picture settings for IPTV

Whatever system your Hisense runs, use a Standard or Movie picture mode and consider turning off heavy motion smoothing for dramas. For sport, some people prefer motion smoothing on. More in poor IPTV picture quality.

Summary

Google TV Hisense: install TiviMate from Google Play. VIDAA Hisense: use VIDAA store apps where available, or add a Google TV stick for the full IPTV experience.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Following Android sideloading guides on a VIDAA TV.
  • Assuming all Hisense TVs have Google Play.
  • Keeping an unmaintained IPTV app.

Free TV on any Hisense

You don't need a playlist for plenty of live TV. Pluto TV, Tubi and other free services are available on most Hisense TVs in their app stores, and Google TV models include Freeplay. See the best free live TV apps.

For the other big smart TV platforms, see IPTV on Samsung and LG.

Frequently asked questions

Can I watch IPTV on a Hisense TV?
Yes. On Hisense models running Google TV or Android TV, install TiviMate or another player from Google Play. On VIDAA models, use an IPTV player from the VIDAA store if one is available in your region, or plug in a streaming stick.
How do I know if my Hisense TV is VIDAA or Google TV?
If the home screen has Google's app rows and a Google Play Store, it's Google TV or Android TV. If it has a VIDAA home screen and app store, it's VIDAA. The model number and settings menu also say which.
Can you sideload apps on a Hisense VIDAA TV?
No. VIDAA isn't Android, so Android APK files can't be installed, whatever some online guides claim.
Why is IPTV Smarters not working on my Hisense TV?
IPTV Smarters Pro was removed from the major app stores in 2026 and no longer gets updates. Use a current player for your TV's system, or a streaming stick.
Does Hisense VIDAA have Google Play?
No. Google Play is only on Hisense models running Google TV or Android TV.
What's the easiest way to get TiviMate on a Hisense VIDAA TV?
Plug a Google TV streaming device into a spare HDMI port and install TiviMate from Google Play.
Can I install IPTV Smarters on a Hisense TV?
It was removed from the major app stores in 2026. Use a maintained player instead.
Does Hisense have a free TV service?
Many models include free streaming apps, and Google TV models include Freeplay.
Can I use an antenna with a Hisense TV?
Yes. Hisense TVs have built-in tuners; scan for channels in settings.
Are Hisense Google TV models good for IPTV?
Yes. They run TiviMate and other players from Google Play, though a dedicated streaming box is often faster.
