When IPTV stops working on a Samsung TV, it's usually one of four things: an app that no longer supports your TV's software, a playlist upload that failed or was reset, an expired account, or a weak network. Samsung TVs run Tizen, not Android, so the fixes differ from Fire TV or Google TV. Older TVs are the most common root cause, and for those, a cheap streaming stick is often the real fix.
Step 1: Check your TV's software
Go to Settings > Support > About This TV. Smart IPTV's current version (3.1.3, July 2026) supports Samsung Tizen 6.5 and later, which means 2022 and newer models (siptv.app). Older TVs may be stuck on older app versions with unfixed bugs. Also run Settings > Support > Software Update.
Step 2: Fix the app
Smart IPTV errors
| Error | Fix |
|---|---|
| MAC address is not found | Open the app on the TV once, copy the MAC exactly, upload the playlist again on siptv.app |
| MAC address is not activated | The trial ended; activate for the one-time 5.49 EUR fee |
| Playlist disappeared | Someone uploaded to your MAC; re-upload and lock your MAC in the app's settings |
| Playlist won't load | Low TV memory; try the "Save online" option on siptv.app |

IPTV Smarters on Samsung
IPTV Smarters Pro was removed from the major app stores in 2026 and no longer gets updates, which is why it often breaks on Samsung TVs. Move to a maintained app; see what happened to IPTV Smarters Pro.
Any app
Close it fully, then unplug the TV for 60 seconds, which clears more than standby does. If that fails, delete and reinstall the app from the Samsung store.
Step 3: Rule out the playlist and service
Test the playlist in VLC on a computer. If it fails there, it's the account or service; see M3U playlist not working.
Step 4: Check the network
- Use the TV's Ethernet port if you can.
- If the MAC address seems to change, check the TV's network privacy settings for an option to use the device's real MAC.
- For buffering: IPTV buffering fixes.
Other IPTV apps on Samsung TVs
Besides Smart IPTV, you may use IBO Player or SS IPTV from Samsung's store. The same logic applies: update the app, restart the TV properly, and check the app still supports your Tizen version. Players that require activation fees (like IBO Player) will stop at an activation screen when their trial ends, which is easy to mistake for a fault. See the best IPTV app for Samsung and LG TVs.
Reset the Smart Hub as a last resort
If apps behave strangely across the board, Samsung TVs have an option to reset the Smart Hub in their support or device care menus. It removes apps and signs you out of services, so note your IPTV details first and reinstall afterwards. Use it only when other fixes haven't worked.
Free TV while you fix things
Samsung TV Plus is built in and needs no setup, so it's a good fallback while you sort out an IPTV app; see Samsung TV Plus.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Keeping an abandoned app like IPTV Smarters Pro.
- Typing the MAC address wrongly on siptv.app.
- Using standby instead of a full power-off restart.
The lasting fix for older Samsung TVs
If your TV is several years old, plug a Google TV stick into a spare HDMI port and use TiviMate. It gets its own updates, independent of Samsung's support for your TV. See the best IPTV app for Samsung and LG TVs.
Frequently asked questions
- Why is IPTV not working on my Samsung TV?
- Common causes: the IPTV app is outdated or no longer supported on your TV's Tizen version, the playlist upload failed or was reset, the account expired, or the TV's network is weak. Old TVs are the most frequent root cause.
- Why does Smart IPTV say MAC address not found?
- The MAC was typed wrongly on the website, or the app hasn't been opened on the TV at least once. Open it, copy the MAC exactly, and upload again.
- Why did IPTV Smarters stop working on my Samsung TV?
- IPTV Smarters Pro was removed from the major app stores in 2026 and no longer gets updates. Switch to a maintained app such as Smart IPTV, or use a streaming stick.
- Which Samsung TVs support the current Smart IPTV app?
- Smart IPTV's version 3.1.3, released in July 2026, supports Samsung Tizen 6.5 and later, which means 2022 and newer models.
- How do I update apps on a Samsung TV?
- Open Apps, go to settings, and turn on auto update, or update individual apps from their page in the store.
- Why does my Samsung TV say app not supported?
- Your TV's Tizen version is older than the app requires. Update the TV's software; if that doesn't help, the TV model is no longer supported by that app.
- Can I use TiviMate on a Samsung TV?
- No. Plug in a Google TV stick if you want TiviMate on a Samsung TV.
- Why does IPTV buffer on my Samsung TV?
- Weak Wi-Fi is the usual cause. Use the TV's Ethernet port if possible, or see our buffering guide.
- Does Samsung TV Plus still work if IPTV doesn't?
- Yes. It's Samsung's own service and doesn't depend on your IPTV app.
- Is there a Samsung TV firmware update for IPTV issues?
- Samsung releases general software updates. Install them from the TV's support menu; app-specific fixes come from the app's developer.
