M3U Editor and Merger

Open an M3U playlist, delete the groups you never watch, rename or regroup channels, fix tvg-id values, and download the result. You can also merge several playlists into one and strip out duplicates.

We fetch the URL once from our server so your browser can read it. Nothing is stored.

How to use it

  1. 1

Open one or more playlists. Load by URL, file or paste. Load another to merge it in.

  2. 2

Trim the groups. Untick whole groups (like VOD or foreign languages) to drop them in one go.

  3. 3

Edit channels. Search, rename, change the group, tvg-id or logo, or delete single channels.

  4. 4

Download. Remove duplicates, sort if you like, and download the new .m3u file.

Why trim a playlist

Big playlists are slow. A list with 20,000 entries takes longer to load on a Firestick, makes the EPG heavier and buries the 40 channels you actually watch. Dropping the VOD and language groups you never open usually cuts a playlist by 80 percent or more, and apps like TiviMate load it in seconds instead of minutes. If your Firestick struggles, this guide to freezing on Firestick has more fixes.

What you can change

  • Groups: keep or drop whole groups, rename them, or move channels between them. The group comes from the group-title attribute.
  • Channel name, shown in your app's list.
  • tvg-id, which links the channel to the guide. Use the EPG checker to find the right ids.
  • tvg-logo, the logo URL.
  • Duplicates: identical stream URLs are removed, keeping the first.

Everything else in the file is preserved: other attributes, #EXTVLCOPT and #KODIPROP lines, and the EPG address on the #EXTM3U line.

Using the edited playlist

The editor gives you a file, not a URL. Many apps can open a local file: VLC uses Open File, and TiviMate can pick a file from the device's storage when you add a playlist. If your app only accepts a URL, host the file somewhere you control, like a private GitHub Gist or your own Google Drive with a direct link.

Note that a playlist URL from a provider often updates itself when channels change. Your edited file is a snapshot, so redo the edit now and then, or keep the provider's URL and use your app's own group hiding instead.

Privacy

All editing happens in your browser. Files you upload or paste never reach our server. Loading by URL passes the file through our server once to get around browser limits, and it isn't stored.

Questions people ask

How do I edit an M3U file?
Open it in the editor by URL, upload or paste. Untick groups you don't want, edit channel names, groups, tvg-id or logos in the table, then press Download. You can also open an M3U in any plain text editor, but a dedicated editor keeps the format valid.
How do I merge two M3U playlists?
Load the first playlist, then use Add another playlist to load the second. The channels are combined into one list. Press Remove duplicates to drop identical stream URLs, then download.
Can I remove all the VOD and movies from a playlist?
Yes. Every group is listed with its channel count. Untick the movie and series groups and they're left out of the download. Groups whose URLs end in .mp4 or .mkv are usually VOD.
Does the editor change my provider's playlist?
No. It makes a new file for you to download. The original URL and your provider's server are untouched.
Is there a size limit?
Files you upload or paste are only limited by your device's memory; a 50,000 entry playlist works fine on a laptop. Loading by URL is limited to 4 MB, so download bigger playlists and upload the file.
